October 5, 2005:  Marilyn Clayton just sent an email to fill us in on her latest:

Saturday, Oct. 1st, my Smooth boy, Zephyr, earned his DD title at the Bernese Mtn. Dog Club of Canada's Draft Tests in White Rock, BC. I think he may be the first Smooth Collie to earn this title - or does anyone out there know of another Smooth who has done so? This title also qualifies Zephyr for his VCX certificate through the AWCA.

This year Zeph also earned his NADAC TG-N and CKC AgN (agility) titles; his AKC CGC title; sired 2 litters of puppies; took a couple Canadian group placements; and picked up a few US points. So Zeph, at 2 years of age, is now known as Can.Ch. Signet's "Way To Go!" Woodruff, HIC, RN-CL, HT, TG-N, AgN, CGC, DD, VC.

Who says show dogs can't also be excellent performance dogs! He's a great fella and I'm enjoying every minute working with this outstanding boy - he'll try anything!

Zephyr is by Am.Ch. Signet's Twice Is Nice CGC, Am. ROM X Am.Ch. Signet-Marchello Enchante and has been largely handled in the show ring by Rod Oishi and can be seen on Tess Esch's web site at http://www.signetcollies.com/ch19.htm.

~Libby Beiler writes:

"Thought you might like to see some recent pictures of the Pete/Mousse kids we kept.  Tri boy, Reuben, showed FEO today because of his major, since it was a sanctioned match.  Traveler (sable merle) won his class in puppy sweeps, and went BOB smooth over Maci, his sister, then placed 2nd in the puppy herding group.  All this in about 90 degree heat today.  Yikes.  We took the motor home over to the match and kept them in the air conditioning while they were waiting around.  Lib"
